At start-up, each character receives an Amulet boosting one miscellaneous skill. Characters also start with one racial ability.
For each race, a single 'title promotion' is available. The title provides a second ability and a few other benefits.
All abilities gain in power with the level of the character.

In Peasant games, characters receive no Amulets.
